Saturday's Saying/Poem: To my Dear and Loving Husband

Last year, my salaried-half traveled to Norway. As a rule, he doesn't travel. But, this was an unusual circumstance... anyway, I tucked a few ancillary ditties in his suitcase. This poem was one of them.

To my Dear and Loving Husband

If ever two were one, then surely we.
If ever man were lov'd by wife, then thee.
If ever wife was happy in a man,
Compare with me, ye women, if you can.
I prize thy love more than whole Mines of gold
Or all the riches that the East doth hold.
My love is such that Rivers cannot quench,
Nor ought but love from thee give recompetence.
Thy love is such I can no way repay.
The heavens reward thee manifold, I pray.
Then while we live, in love let's so persever
That when we live no more, we may live ever.

~Anne Bradstreet (1612-1672)

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah - how sweet!
Mailed your "envelope" yesterday. Hubby even insured it.
Have a great weekend!

How very blessed you are to experience a love like that. You push my coveting issue to its limits you know. :)

And how very prudent to give voice to it and honor as well. Wise woman. Beautiful choice but what else would I expect?
