Conventional Commodity: Refrigerator

Con-ven-tion-al: adjective, (kuhn-ven-shuh-nl): ordinary rather than different or original.
Com-mod-i-ty: noun, (kuh-mod-i-tee): something of use, advantage, or value.

Well, I had mentioned before (as a comment on another blog) something about doing a pic of something somewhere around the house/property... you know, something of an everyday item that all or most folks have. I said that maybe I'll post a pic of our "refrigerator" because just about EVERYONE has one and they ALL look different.

Lo and behold ...I was not the first to come up with this idea. Who knew?!? ... stands to reason as I've never been known as an out-of-the-box-thinker (I can't help it, I'm a Red Pen). I will call these semi-who-knows-how-frequent-posts, "Conventional Commodity" followed by whatever it is.

So, here it is, our refrigerator. Remember as you view this (large, if you click on it) that we are the parents of a toddler. Hence, the cool velcro calendar to help teach about the day, month, year, season, weather, activities for the day, as well as 'how we feel'. I have made a few extra "activity" velcro patches since it didn't come with ones for; grocery shopping, playing outside, playing inside, going to the 'horse feed-store', etc.

It's neat to see the connections grow. As a routine, my daughter and I always let the dogs out first thing in the AM and, upon doing so, we look to "see what kind of day it is" (weather-wise). Well, this particular day, it was cloudy and overcast, so we put up the cloudy patch. Later that day, we were doing whatever inside and our Little Someone looked out the window and noted that the "sun is out, we have to change the calendar!"... sure enough, the sun was peeking out. We had to go change the cloudy patch to the sunny one. Very cute.

That is the cutest calendar. Back when my kids were small, I had to make something like this. Couldn't get it pre-made!

I need to hobble out to my kitchen and get a shot of my fridge. I'll put it on the list (with my red pen)of the things I want to do this week.

Too cute! What a good idea to keep it on the fridge. Virtually guarantees you're gonna do it.

(Sob) I just took the Wild Man's chart down from his bedroom. It was red but nearly identical in other ways. He's 14. Do you think I waited too long? LOL He really wants to get rid of the Noah's Ark wallpaper, too. Sounds like I've got a weekend job coming up. Hang on to every moment with all you've GOT!!!

If I had a stash of chocolate I could be proud of, I just might take a pic of the inside.
Best here though is skim milk ...I know, chalk water to some. I AM A MILK DRINKER though and if I drank WHOLE milk!?!
:-)

I'll bet if I sent you some of my precious chocolate stash, (and I would, ya know) you still wouldn't show us the inside !!
;-)

Word verification : glesses.
How many glesses of milk do you drink a day?
