I Have Better Things to Do...

....but NOOO(!), I have to spend my time researching in order to protest our property taxes before the Appraisal Board next week. Oh, yes, it is a choice... I don't HAVE to do it. But, holy mother of and entity that forces one to unmercifully defend what they have properly bought and paid for... Lease Rape by the government is one thing to call it or Legal Extortion by the government.
POINT BEING... I am spending time that I could be SLEEPING looking up an ungawdly amount of "comparables" and I have not been having fun.

Sorry if I sound negative... I'm tired.

Hmmm... I think I've said that lately.

  2. You are so right Mr. D. Photos are great and the initial 'appraiser' seems to be just what you say. We used photos for our "improvements" when I went in last month before an initial appraiser. But, now we are going before the "Board" and are contesting our land value. Hence the numbers; how many acres @ what price per acre and location, restrictions and whatnot.
Aarrghh... just makes me steam that we have to counter/defend YEARLY the "lease" amount they extort.

  3. So sorry things are rather insane and frustrating right now. Just remember to take care of you and Little Someone and Little LITTLE someone. Don't forget to breathe and rest and stay focused on the REALLY important things. I'll pray for just the right person for you to plead your case to. It IS absolute CRAZINESS.

  4. Oh hun, I can hear your frustration... and your tiredness.

It's extortion, plain and simple, and it's WORTH fighting for the correct land values of your property.
But remember to take time out to breathe, and to sleep!

I'll keep saying prayers that this all turns out the way YOU want it to!

I say, somewhat facetiously, that I have a small little world. What can I say... blogging is my entertainment and hearing from you makes my 'little world' a tad bigger.
