(sniff-sniff)... okay, my mom is here and we ...actually, she is going through Miss E's clothes and Mr. C's clothes for all clothes that are too small.
SHE is is doing the initial "going through" because I am aware of my sentimental weakness. You see, I want to keep some clothes for/from each so a Memory Quilt can be made....
BUT I MUST TELL MYSELF THAT I CANNOT KEEP EVERYTHING.
:-(
Yesterday is gone.
Damn Father time is in too good of shape... he could slow down a BIT, you know!

Hippity Hoppity Happenings... & other stuff in pics
Well, here's the latest...
although some of the "latest" is about a month old. Mr. C is growing like a weed during a wet spring. Was over 2 feet tall at his 2 month appointment.
Miss E is a thoughtful big sister that will tell you if you're doing it wrong.
Hmmm... wonder what the future holds for us.
:-)
We had several 'bunnies' around at Easter time...

The Power of the Dog
There is sorrow enough in the natural way
From men and women to fill our day;
And when we are certain of sorrow in store,
Why do we always arrange for more?
Brothers and Sisters, I bid you beware
Of giving your heart to a dog to tear.
Buy a pup and your money will buy
Love unflinching that cannot lie--
Perfect passion and worship fed
By a kick in the ribs or a pat on the head.
Nevertheless it is hardly fair
To risk your heart for a dog to tear.
When the fourteen years which Nature permits
Are closing in asthma, or tumour, or fits,
And the vet's unspoken prescription runs
To lethal chambers or loaded guns,
Then you will find--it's your own affair--
But...you've given your heart for a dog to tear.
When the body that lived at your single will,
With its whimper of welcome, is stilled (how still!);
When the spirit that answered your every mood
Is gone--wherever it goes--for good,
You will discover how much you care,
And will give your heart for the dog to tear.
We've sorrow enough in the natural way,
When it comes to burying Christian clay.
Our loves are not given, but only lent,
At compound interest of cent per cent.
Though it is not always the case, I believe,
That the longer we've kept 'em, the more do we grieve:
For, when debts are payable, right or wrong,
A short-time loan is as bad as a long--
So why in Heaven (before we are there)
Should we give our hearts to a dog to tear?

I've Officially Fallen Off the Face of the Earth...
....am not sure when I'll be back either, as I am writing this 4 days before a scheduled cesarean. You'd think little short ditties like this post could be written in a flash, but nooo... I henpeck type and don't always think so fast and then, sometimes, revise here and there (I'm incorrigible).
So I am gonna type everything I can think to "announce" and then let it be. I hope I'm not jinxing myself in any way by doing this ahead of time... I know, I'm a 'worry-wart'... an incorrigible Worry-Wart.
Our little C (though I'm not sure how "little" he will be, at 5' 2+ inches short, I feel like that girl that ate ?? something blueberry on Willy Wonka and needed to be rolled out)...
Arrived on Jan 12, 2010
At 1:23 PM
Weighing: 8 lbs. 2 oz.
Length: 21 inches l-o-n-g
With black hair and long legs and fingers (yes, this was typed before delivery and is correct!).
Pics to come when ?? downloaded.

A Note to our Little Someone:
E Sweetie,
I have been savoring as much as possible our time until your little brother comes (cesarean is in 6 days, unless I go before then). I will miss the time alone with you. Things will be different, but I think we will see you in another light as well... an additional one. You will be a wonderful big sister. But, yet ...at the same time, you will always be my favorite little girl.
I love you more than words can say.
Your Momma/Mommy

Sweetpea,
I have been noticing you more than ever now that we all are about to have the newest member of our family join us in our home. You have benefited from our full attention and now.....that is about to change. You will adjust just fine. I think your intelligence and desire help out will see you through this change and allow you to develop in a way you otherwise wouldn't have. I look forward to watch you teach your little brother the ropes. Especially with reading and writing. The foot races will be a sight for sure but this time, I won't be holding your hand. I melted the other night when I was washing your hands and I said to you that I just love the little Emma. You said to me " Why do you say that Daddy?" I said "I am afraid if you get big you won't want to give me hugs and kisses." You replied " Silly daddy, I will always want to give you hugs and kisses."
Hugs and Kisses,
Daddy

"HAMPER"ing the Truth?!?
Nooo, I'm not.
I swear....... no lie....... honest to God....... I kid you NOT....... Seriously speaking....... No joke....... I tell ya....... it's the truth that while my laundry waits to be washed in that dark, stinky, romantic hamper, it BREEDS!

I Didn't Fall Off of the Face of the Earth on Christmas!
What I mean is NO CHRISTMAS BABY WAS BORN!! Yippee!!
Feeling like a waddling Oompa-Loompa, I was worried about going into labor on Christmas --the further from Christmas, the better is our thought (cesarean scheduled for 1/12)... SOOO, point is... phewww!... Christmas will be just that -no (future) birthdays on the same day.
:-)
Ohh, and the "falling off of the face of the earth"... that is what happens with me when a newborn arrives. Took me about 5-6 months to crawl back over earth's edge with our daughter.
Hope y'all had a good Christmas!

Compare & Contrast II
So, here we have another Compare and Contrast (you can see the 1st Compare & Contrast here). So, with the two pics below... notice any differences?
Yes, I know in the first one on the left, there is a towel on the mantle because we had a (arrghh) leak and in the second pic (on the right), stockings are hung and Christmas decorations are abound.
Any other differences?
Well, I'll tell you the difference. The pic on the left was taken in the summer, in the early morning hours before we left so our daughter could be delivered (via cesarean).
The second pic was taken A MONTH BEFORE I am scheduled for a cesarean (sched. for the 12th of Jan.) -Ha! ...wonder if I'll make it... seeing as I am as big as I am.

Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow!
We got SNOW!!!
Now that may not be saying much to some of you folks. But here in SE Texas, it's saying something. Not only did we have SNOW!, but we beat the record for earliest timing of it ever happening. December 10th was the date of the previous record. We got SNOW! on December 4th.
AND, we got more than the little sprinkle that is gone once it hits the ground.
Just look!

{Remember, all pics can be clicked for a spectacular view~ you may even see the Woodpecker on the tree with the swing}
Our little cow dinner bell even caught snow...
Below is a view looking off the end of the front porch towards the one neighbor we have.
We're holding onto that sad tree as long as it can hold a swing-we had a big 'replacement' tree put in directly behind it just waiting-you can't see the tree in this pic, but those are the leafed branches from it sticking out.
Looking down the front porch (hi pups) towards the pasture...
